Bryan Snyder

Community Artist

Other than a few years while he attended college in the San Francisco Bay Area, Bryan Snyder has lived in Carlsbad his entire life. Today, he lives in the Carlsbad Village with his wife Susanna and kids Henry (7) and Stella (5).

Snyder Art and Design is a creative agency specializing in public art, artist and project management, traditional art, multimedia design and creative marketing. Fueled by a passion for community, local business and culture, Snyder has been implementing a wide variety of projects into the Carlsbad community since 2007, all with the goal of creating community and culture. Some community favorites include the Carlsbad Art Wall, mural tours, past craft gatherings and scavenger hunts, Doodle murals and art hunts, the surprise street installation and his many creative collaborations with local businesses.

Snyder's next project is titled the Alley Art Wall and will include Carlsbad's first Recreation Mural Space—a dedicated space for aspiring muralists of all ages to practice their technique, explore their newest interest and nurture their budding passion. This project will also include permanent murals by 15+ artists.

Snyder's signature art-making technique is his drip style where he drips paint on canvas through hand-cut stencils. He also illustrates his signature character named Doodle, an innocent yet mischievous character who attempts to resurface long forgotten childhood memories.

Beyond his passion for encouraging a more artistic culture in the Carlsbad Village, Snyder enjoys surfing, skateboarding, photography, gardening, spending quality time with his family and exploring every inch of the Carlsbad Village.
