Rising Stars of the Year Scholarship Recipients

In September, 2019 the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce launched its first Rising Star of the Month program. Throughout the school year, nearly 40 high school seniors from six different high schools were recognized for demonstrating character, integrity, love of learning, involvement in school and community activities and/or the ability to overcome challenging life circumstances without compromising their education. Those students were eligible to apply for the Rising Star of the Year $1,000 scholarships. The winners of the 2019-20 Rising Star of the Year scholarships are Luis Jofre, Carlsbad High School; Edward Gardner, Carlsbad High School; Aaliyah Rivas, La Costa Canyon High School; Samantha Low, Sage Creek High School; Sofia Hart, Pacific Ridge School; and Mary Fangman, Pacific Ridge School.
